Hawaiʻi Pacific Parks Association Wins Partnership Award For Product Innovation

Supporters of national parks in Hawaiʻi and American Samoa can show their love with an award-winning ʻohe kapala (bamboo stamp) mandala stainless steel insulated bottle that was recognized for a 2022 Partnership Award by the Public Lands Alliance!

Hawaiʻi Pacific Parks Association (HPPA) partnered with Hawaiian cultural advisors and NPS leadership to design a culturally significant ʻohe kapala pattern for each of six national park partners.

The individual patterns were then combined into a single graphic design representing our park partnerships. We call this graphic our Mandala (our symbol of completeness and unity). This fresh take on traditional Polynesian design, paired with a high-value, eco-friendly, and useful item makes meaningful connections and provides funding for national park programs and projects.

We partnered with Engraving Pro, a Hawaiʻi-based company on Molokaʻi, to source and etch the bottles, and make custom ombre colors.

Find this award-winning mandala bottle at these national park stores in Hawaiʻi:

Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park
Haleakalā National Park
Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau National Historical Park
Kaloko-Honokōhau National Historical Park
Puʻukoholā National Historic Site

and online at: https://shop.hawaiipacificparks.org

...

HPPA is the nonprofit partner of six national parks in Hawaiʻi and American Samoa.
Proceeds from our visitor center park stores and online shop have contributed over $22 million in support to the national parks since 1933.
