Hawaiʻi Pacific Parks Association (HPPA) Celebrates Donations to the National Parks of Hawaiʻi
For the month of December 2021, visitors to Hawai‘i Pacific Parks Association’s national park stores on Maui and Hawaiʻi Island had the opportunity to make direct donations to the parks they love. Our donation goal initiative was titled $10,000 for 10 Years, and it celebrated the ten year mark since HPPA rebranded for the purpose of generating more avenues of park support.
Our goal was to raise $5,000 in visitor donations that we would match, for a total of $10,000 to gift to the parks.
The generosity of national parks visitors surpassed our hopes by a mile!
The original $5,000 donation goal was reached before the middle of the month. By the end of December, an incredible $18,500, over triple the original donation goal, was directly donated at our national park stores. In response, we doubled our initial match to $10,000. HPPA will be able to present our partner national parks with a cash gift totalling $28,500.
Donations to national parks help support wildlife programs, youth ranger programs, cultural events, publications, demonstrations, and so much more.
Donations were accepted at Hawaiʻi Volcanoes and Haleakalā National Parks, Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau and Kaloko-Honokōhau national historical parks, and Puʻukoholā Heiau National Historic Site.
We humbly thank everyone who helps us to support the national parks we serve!

HPPA is the nonprofit partner of six national parks in Hawaiʻi and American Samoa. Proceeds from our visitor center park stores and online shop have contributed over $20 million in support to national parks since 1933.
